El Molle

History:  Camp Peniel was purchased in 1981 with donations from Germany.  There were no buildings on the property for the first few years of camp.  Camps were held but they were very rustic.  A missionary with GMSA and a national pastor began to build little by little as funds came in.  A suitable kitchen, cabins, benches, tables and bunk beds were built.

Facility Description:  The camp is located in the Elqui Valley in Chile's northern desert.  It is the smallest of GMSA's camps.  It is only one and a half acres.  They have bathroom facilities and showers. Campers can enjoy an outside dining area, swimming pool and a meeting room.  Maximum capacity is 90 people.

Current use:  The camp services eight churches in the North.  Teen camps, and church retreats are popular at the camp.  It is attractive, but impractical as it is too small for the growing churches in the area.

Future Development:  There are plans right now to sell the current property which is in a tourist area and buy a much larger site near the city of Vicuna (capital of the Elqui Valley).
